Dogs at Trenant Park Cottages
We welcome dogs at Trenant and we are indeed, dog lovers and owners ourselves. The cottages that are available to dog owners all have private fenced gardens. There are breathtaking views down across the grounds to the open parkland and wonderful old trees some of which were planted hundreds of years ago.
The cottages are set in one third of an acre of beautifully kept gardens which are fenced with a cattle grid so no escapees from here!... Further walking is available through the kissing gate out into open parkgrounds down past ponds, streams and a bluebell wood to the river where one can walk further along the shore at low tide or carry on up the hill towards Duloe, this is a quiet B road.
This part of Cornwall is ideal for dogs to be on holiday. Information is left in the cottages about walks on the coast, moors and woods. Although the main beach at Looe does not allow dogs there are plenty of other beaches in and around Looe where they are welcome.
The majority of restaurants and pubs welcome well behaved dogs.
If your dog falls ill on holiday we have the services (24hr) of our extremely professional and caring vet.
We are very proud to have been specifically selected by Your Dog magazine as a perfect place to stay with your pet, in their words ‘combine designer chic with rural bliss for a peaceful break. The surrounding countryside is fantastic-there is also a lot of wildlife including wild ducks, kingsfishers and owls’
We do charge £20-£30 per pet and ask you not to allow them on any furniture or in the bedrooms. We ask dog owners not to leave their dog alone in the cottage. The dog charge is to ensure that the cottages are cleaned to a very high standard on departure ready for the next guest who may not be a pet owner. We supply dust sheets and covers on request.
The standard of cleanliness is of our greatest importance for the enjoyment of pet and non pet owners alike.
