There is so much to do in this area. The breath taking coastal path can be joined at Looe, depending on your fitness it is up to you how little or how much you do. A good way to see Polperro is by this approach, as you near this quite dazzling village you can imagine the busy trade of smuggling taking place during the last century (and this one!). A super place for lunch at one of the ancient pubs or cafes.

The walking is so extensive here that we have a suggested ' walks folder' we place in the cottages. As well as coastal walking there are the moors at Bodmin and Liskeard, again good pubs here including the famous Jamaica Inn. Just over the border into Devon has Dartmoor to discover,

The walking is so extensive here that we have a suggested ' walks folder' we place in the cottages. As well as coastal walking there are the moors at Bodmin and Liskeard, again good pubs here including the famous Jamaica Inn. Just over the border into Devon has Dartmoor to discover, the infamous prison lies on the edge of Princetown but the Dartmoor ponies, flowers and fauna make moorland walking very rewarding.

There are large areas of woodland in Cornwall which are quite spectacular at any time of year.

Looe is known for its large fishing industry, tons of different fish are landed on the quay daily, these are then sold by auction and distributed around varous parts of the country. There is an excellent fish shop called Pengelleys' to sample some of the locally caught fish. There are many fishing trips leaving daily which are highly recommended, you can usually keep all you catch.

Horse riding is popular here with a choice of several different stables, Moorland riding at Bodmin is a good way to see the moor. Active8 run an organised ride at Trerulefoot, some six miles from here.

The beaches, of course are what most people come here for. Very safe swimming at Looe and rocky little coves on the West side of Looe at Hannafore. We are all but an hour from the North coast of Cornwall which is famous for its surfing beaches.

Only forty minutes away is the historic naval city of Plymouth affording interesting curio and antique shops on the old part Barbican where Cap't Jaspers fish and chips are a must! The recently opened Drake Circus sopping mall has an enormous amount of shops that you are spoilt for choice.

There is good cycling where bikes can be hired at Cardinam woods between Bodmin and Liskeard, good trails through the woods with a charming cafe for refreshments. A cycle trail from Wadebridge (Bodmin if you are fit) to Padstow is a good way to see this now famous town which is now known as Padstein. You can sample Rick Stein's fish and chips or dine in his bistro or restaurant, booking advised.
